Question

Looking for suggestions to upgrade my editing system

These are the specs of my current editing system:

Windows 10 64-bit

Asus X79 Sabertooth mainboard

Core i7-4930K currently OCed at 4.3Ghz

32GB RAM

RTX 2060 6GB GPU (also a GTX1080 8GB currently being repaired)

2TB SSD OS

8TB RAID 10 Storage

I'm interested in upgrading my mainboard, CPU (and maybe a good water cooling rig suggestion), and memory to better handle 4K footage and for faster rendering. I'd like to try and keep my cost between $1,500-$2,000. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've been looking at the newly announced AMD Ryzen 9, 3000 series CPUs. They're looking to be a game-changer and really give Intel a run for its money. Would it be worth it for me to wait for them? The 7nm Ryzen 9 3900X 12-core is supposed to retail for $499 and the 3950X 16-core for $749. From what I've read, it seems like these will be a great video editing CPUs but I was wondering if anyone had any better insight than me.

Thanks!
