Mac Pro Hardware Configurations

Hi there,

Im operating a 4 year old Mac Pro (Late 2013) Spec Below:

Processor : 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5

Memory : 32 GB 1866 MHZ DDR3

Graphics : AMD FirePro D500 3072MB

It was fairly basic apart from the RAM upgrade on purchase and its been a OK machine, however I'm looking for an upgrade that will improve my saving & rendering time. They still sell virtually the same machine with almost identical tech specs, but I have access to 4 other machines with the same spec but brand new and they can't keep up with the pace of the work...hence the upgrade to something better and faster.

My work is within the Large Format & Packaging industry and regularly saving down GB's worth of data in one hit, some of the PDF's I make are being reduced down to 1GB from 2.5GB on Indesign Export.

My question is, what do I upgrade to and whats going to be more important to me?

I was thinking along the lines of the below:

Processor : 3GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

Memory : 64 GB 1866 MHZ DDR3

Graphics : AMD FirePro D700 (6GB?)

It would be great to see what you guys think, money does play a big part but at the same time upgrading to a machine equal to what I have seems to be a bit pointless.

Jack.

Pointless to say that your old machine should perform well.
