Question

Min Computer requirements?

I'm looking to get a new laptop.  I use:

Adobe Premiere,

Adobe After Effects,

Adobe Photoshop,

Adobe Audition,

Adobe Animate,

Adobe Bridge

Adobe Media Encoder

Adobe Illustrator (occasionally)

Adoble InDesign  (occasionally)

these specs have been presented to me for a new company computer:  Considering that these requirements change from Adobe, will these be good enough?  I'm thinking doubling the memory main ram to 64GB, and the Hard drive to 1tb, but what about the graphics card and the processors?

  • NVIDIA® RTX™ 2000 Ada, 8GB GDDR6
  • 16" FHD+ non-touch, 1920 x 1200, 60Hz, 500 nits WLED, 100% sRGB, Low BL w/ IR Cam
  • Intel® Core™ i9-13900H, vPro® Enterprise (24MB Cache, 14 Cores, 20 Threads, 2.6-5.4 GHz Turbo, 45W)
  • 32GB RAM
  • 512GB SSD hard drive
  • 6 Cell 100Whr Lithium Express Charge battery

Both the GPU and the CPU are quite good. I would like a higher-res monitor than 1920x1200, especially if you're going to work with 2k or higher-res video.

On the other hand, if all of your video work is no higher than "FHD" (1080p), then that laptop would more than suffice.

Go with the larger hard drive and at least 64 GB RAM.

It is generally recommended to have 8 GB RAM per core.

Thanks!  So the graphics card is okay? (and won't be out of spec in a year) I have seen lists from Adobe in the past about what is compatible, but I can't find a recent one.

thanks in Advance,

Dave

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

generally, premiere pro is the most demanding adobe app.  checking its specs is a good place to start.

when checking the specs, avoid any computer that only meets minimum specs, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html

@kglad

Actually, After Effects is even more demanding than Premiere Pro (which is more demanding than the other apps).
