My Radeon RX 6700XT uses less than 10%, is that ok?

Hey, guys. I know it's a comom topic, but, its still freaking me up: is it ok that in 4K randering my Premiere uses only 6% of it's capacity?

Thanks a bunch,

Bruno

Well... actually i have some strange news.

I changed the renderization to software just to see how my Ryzen would handle it. And then switched back to Open CL. And OUT OF THE BLUE it started using graphics card.

It's now fully operational, using 60% os GC while rendering. Althoug I still don't get it, i am glad it's working now.

    Thanks you guys.

In addition to what Peru Bob stated, it could be that the OpenCL API itself just isn't as performant as CUDA (which unfortunately is restricted to Nvidia GPUs), such that some of the rendering features that were hardware-accelerated with CUDA instead gets sent straight to the CPU (in software-only mode) with OpenCL.

In other words, the RX 6700 XT might have been more performant than a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in raw compute performance but the OpenCL API itself was holding it back.

It could be that few GPU accelerated effects or transitions are used.

It could also mean that there is a bottleneck elsewhere in the system.
