Question

Need to run 4K in premiere pro. Need recomendation

I have Premiere Pro 2021 running on a Predator Triton 500.

After I finish my current project I plan on getting a new Desktop computer and updating all my Adobe CC software.

The predator gets graphics card warning messages and does not run 4K smoothly. My new project will be done in 4K with individual sequences of 4-8 minutes, total run time of 60-120 min.

My QUESTION. I need a recommendation for a current DESKTOP that will handle 4K clips… or a list of preferred specifications… Target price around 3500$

Be aware that if you order a big-name-brand desktop, it will typically include a lot of bloatware which may slow down or destabilize your PC when running CPU-intensive tasks such as video editing. And that bloatware cannot be completely uninstalled properly.

And do not go to Acer's Web site to update your Nvidia GPU driver: The one in your laptop, which is typically powered by only a 9th-Gen Intel i7 or i9 mobile CPU with 6- or 8-cores, may be using a driver that's more than three years old! In fact, Acer has not updated that latest driver in over three years! And even if you are using Windows Update to update drivers, Microsoft will only give you a driver that's now a year and a half old (version 456.71, from what I recall). Instead, get the newest driver directly from Nvidia, not from Acer or Microsoft.

You could get a 12th generation i9 CPU and an RTX 3080 Ti GPU if you have the money. You could buy a Dell, Lenovo or HP. Some of the gaming systems with those specs will work just fine.

You can also check out Puget Systems webpage, they not only build systems (like mine) but also put out a ton of papers on their testing of variuos hardware bits with Premiere, Ae, Resolve, you name it.

You can get an idea of the parts you need or have them build it.

I would refer to this page while looking for a system. The vendor would be up to you.
