Question
New computer build for PS, AI, web development
Looking to upgrade my painfully slow windows i7-860 (first gen, i think!). On somewhat of a tight budget, so hoping to get some input on best bang for the buck with what's available right now.
Don't do 3d or video, and don't game. Mostly photoshop work, vector work in AI and web development (sass compiling, live previews, etc).
- CPU - deciding between i5-8600k and ryzen 2600x. I know most CC apps don't benefit much from more than just a few cores, but the 2 processors seem fairly even. Any real world experience from anyone? Want something that'll last a few years so maybe by than adobe will make some progress to better leverage 6+ cores?
- If going with the i5, will the integrated graphics be enough? Running a 24" 1920 x 1200 dell screen, and other than some gpu-heavy filter effects, both PS and AI seem to really mostly on CPU? May jump up to a 27" widescreen, won't be doing 4k or dual screen.
- I know max out ram, going wither 16 or 32 depending on pricing, crazy right now.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Rich
