Hi

I need to buy a new laptop for work when i travel. I used to have a Dell Inspiron 17 which gave me really good results, but it is already 4 years old and its graphic card (intel) started to fail when doing exports. Now, i am about to buy a new Dell Inspiron 15 7000, intel 7 8th gen, 16 ram, and a graphic card NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) MX250. It is not listed under the recommended by Adobe graphic cards, but Customer Service told me to ask here in this forum. Can anybody give me some orientation with this? I edit with 2019 Premiere Pro version.

Can you post a link to the laptop?

The NVIDIA page says this:

Specifications

Note: The below specifications represent the GPU features available. Actual implementation may vary by OEM model. Please refer to OEM website for actual shipping specifications.

The GeForce MX250 is basically an updated version of the low-end Pascal GPU that began life as a desktop GeForce GT 1030. It has the same 384 CUDA cores as the GT 1030, but running at a higher base clock speed than the GT 1030 with its memory running at 7 GT/s (versus 6 GT/s for the GT 1030), resulting in a memory throughput of 56 GB/s (versus 48 GB/s for the GT 1030), it should be a tad above GT 1030 level of performance.

But your planned Inspiron 15 7000 might be using a reduced-power version of that MX250 with significantly lower clock speeds all around, it might fall behind the desktop GT 1030 in performance.

At any rate, that GPU has only enough VRAM to meet the minimum VRAM requirement for Premiere Pro 2019. However, Adobe now recommends a newer-generation GPU with at least 4 GB of VRAM for Premiere Pro 2019.
