I’m running OS X mojave on the 2017 MBP with the latest premiere pro cc, and editing 4K is a nightmare. Really keen on getting an egpu... Is anyone using an egpu with OS X and premiere pro???

any recommendation on external video cards?

Thanks!

I have the same MacBook Pro but I’m still on high siera, I am running a egpu with wx7100. I do have some 4K footage in my timeline which did run just about full speed after using the but it still wasn’t quite there. From what I gather FCPX is way better for 4K on a Mac. If you have to stay in Premier however I would create proxies. You can do this simply inside Premier by going to your footage in the bin and right clicking and selecting create proxies. Itll open media encoder and create and link them for you. Once your edit is done you can relink them back to full res footage with a click And export.

I would wait one more update to Premiere Pro to see if Mojave is more adequately supported.
