Premiere Pro 2022 real-time playback performance issues finally solved?

The issues are not solved but I can demonstrate where the problem lies. We can no longer tell people to drop down to 1/4 resolution because the Mercury Playback Engine simply does not work. You folks can watch the video below and test it yourself.

It would have been nice if an Adobe programmer could have responded back. Even if they cannot replicate the problem.

After watching my video I hope you can have the CEO or the Project Manger publicly apologize to all of us. It is long over due! I now see what people are complaining about since I last upgraded.

I only upgrade once a year because I know Premiere Pro is going to have issues. If I wipe and reload Windows the issues tend to go away. I have recommend other people do the same and my advice is met with resistance. I cannot blame them. Premiere Pro did not have these problems 15 years ago or even 10 years ago. Something is seriously wrong with Premiere Pro. People should not have to wipe and reload Windows every time there is an update. I never used to be afraid to upgrade Premiere Pro 12 years ago. Tell the programmers to scrap the Mercury Playback Engine and replace it! I will be the first to admit not everyone's PC will act like mine but I doubt I am alone.

Hi Andy,

Sorry for the performance issues. Please let the team know about your findings here: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro.

You may want to check out the Beta version as there are some updates for performance for some of these supported formats. Note that BRAW is not a supported format right now, but I understand your concern about this popular footage. Take care.

Thanks,
Kevin

I admit the BRAW plugin from BMD might have issues but Adobe should want to reach out to Blackmagic Design. The Plugin used to work. If I wipe and reload Windows the issues might go away but Premiere Pro never acted up like this 12 years ago.
