Question

Premiere Pro Compatibily

I need to run Premiere Pro on a system with

  • Intel Graphics 4600
  • Radeon R7 250
  • 16GB Ram
  • Intel I7-4770 , 3.4GHz

The system is only required to do basic Video Editing task ( use of After Effects is also very occassionaly required).

I realise the 4600 is not supported by Adobe, however any advice would be much appreciated.

I strongly recommend a GPU upgrade for that system. You see, Premiere Pro works rather poorly with OpenCL in Windows to begin with. And in the case of the R7 250, it uses a GPU that dates all the way back to the Radeon HD 77xx back in 2012. As such, its performance will actually be about as sluggish as an old Nvidia GeForce GT 730 with 64-bit GDDR5 VRAM.

For that i7-4770 CPU, you'd be way better off upgrading the GPU to a GeForce GTX 1650 GDDR6 or a GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER.

Once you upgrade that GPU, be sure to disable the integrated Intel HD Graphics in the BIOS. Otherwise, Premiere Pro 2020 may not work properly. By default most desktops automatically disable the Intel graphics when a discrete GPU is installed.

Thanks for that, unfortunatly I'm not in a position to upgrade for the time being. I will bear it in mind when we are able to upgrade.

You will be forced to upgrade very soon, if not now. Your GPU dates all the way back to 2013. And a future version of Premiere Pro will not run at all in your system.
