Premiere Pro with NVIDIA Quadro M2000M

Hi,

 

I want to buy a refurbished laptop with Intel Core i7-6820HQ and NVIDIA Quadro M2000M and I am wondering if Premiere Pro will work on this machine. 

 

The M2000M is listed in the compatible graphics cards here

I am sorry to tell you this, but the Quadro M2000M is not the same GPU as the desktop Quadro M2000. The Quadro M2000M is actually based on an older chip than the desktop Quadro M2000: The M2000M is based on the first-gen Maxwell GM107 chip that powered the desktop Quadro K2200, while the desktop Quadro M2000 used the second-gen Maxwell GM206 chip.

 

In addition, CUDA support for all GPUs older than second-gen Maxwell have been depreciated in newer Nvidia graphics drivers: The M2000M supports only CUDA 10.1 even when running the latest CUDA 11.2 drivers. Since version 14.5, Premiere Pro now requires full hardware support for CUDA 10.2 or higher in order for the GPU acceleration to function properly. Sadly, the Quadro M2000M does not meet this minimum requirement. As a result, Premiere Pro's renderer may default to the software-only mode, with a substantial increase in the render times (rendering performance will become much, much slower).
