Seeking spec recommendations to upgrade for optimal performance

Hi - I'm experiencing performance issues with my 8-year-old computer, especially when working with 4k-resolution footage, GPU-heavy effects, and recent versions of Adobe software.

My current specs are:
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z170-P
- Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-6600 CPU @3.30GHZ 3.30GHZ
- Installed RAM: 16GB
- Edition: Windows 10
- System Type: 64-bit
- Dedicated GPU memory: 2.0 GB
- My current processor supports DDR3
- RAM speed: 2133 MHz
- GPU model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750T
- I'm using an HDD with 930GB of storage (prefer an SSD for editing).

I need to upgrade my computer to handle and render high-res footage, large multi-layered projects, and potential future updates. Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated.

Sadly, I would have to agree completely with Peru Bob. There is absolutely no cost-effective upgrade at all for that PC, given that the entire LGA 1151 v1 platform is now past its EOSL (End Of Servicing Lifetime) at Intel itself. And you cannot upgrade that system to an 8th- or 9th-Gen Intel CPU because although those two generations of later CPUs use the same physical socket, the electrical pin assignments are different.

Conversely, any meaningful GPU upgrade will become severely bottlenecked by even the most powerful CPU that's compatible with that LGA 1151 v1 platform, the Intel i7-7700K as that CPU still has only 4 cores and 8 threads whereas your i5 has only 4 single-threaded cores (no hyper threading).
