Question

Should I use the NVIDIA RTX 3090?

Trying to build out powerhouse systems for our media team at work and I'm struggling to find a straight answer on whether or not to get the NVIDIA RTX 3090 card instead of the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000.....Drive to drive comparison the 3090 looks better, but it's not listed on the recommeded drives and honestly I just don't know enough about it to deep dive into it myself. We use all of the creative suite, but mostly PP, AE, and PS. Thanks in advance!

The 3090 would be great if your CPU has 16 core or more. What good is a 3090 if the CPU is pegged at 100% usage and the GPU is only at 20% usage?

I would put this into better context, given today's workflows:

You do not want the CPU pegged to 100% with the GPU chillaxing at 20% with tons of heavy effects. Nor do you want the GPU pegged to 100% even with very few simple GPU-accelerated effects with the CPU barely registering even 30% usage. The latter may actually cause corruption in renders and exports because the GPU simply cannot handle such effects.

Hi

The RTX 3090 far exceeds the Quadro RTX 4000 specs wise

If it was me I'd go with the RTX 3090, you'll need to take the power supply into consideration.

When downloading the drivers always go for the Studio driver and don't install Geforce Experience, you can deselect that from the advanced option
