Slow Rendering and Playback in After Effects and Premier Pro - Ryzen 7 1800X

Hi friends,

I am having issues with really slow rendering in after effects and playback in both After Effects in Premier pro. In premier pro I thought it was the fact I am not using an edit ready codec (currently using GH5s 10bit 422 200mbs & 400mbs files), however I am now having issues with rendering in after effects a project that I also rendered a year ago with a far less powerful machine, its taking over 10 hours to render, compared to about 3 hours on the machine a year ago.

Current Machine Specs:

AMB Ryzen 7 1800X Eight Core 3.60 Ghz

32GB RAM

GTX 1080Ti 11 GB GPU

Fast SSD & nvme SSDs

I have enabled the GPU for rendering in both programs, however am not 100% confident that there isn't a little setting that I am yet to enable, as I feel the performance I am getting is quite bad for the above specs.
