Slower Renders with RTX 2070 upgrade

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I recently upgraded from a GTX 1070 to an RTX 2070. I wasn't expecting huge improvements, but definitely didn't expect to see my test render take about 12.5% LONGER after the upgrade.

Any insights on what would/could be causing this?

System Specs:

Intel i9 9900k

RTX 2070 EVGA XC

32 GB DDR4 3000Mhz

I was having similar problems with my new PC build running slower than an old outdated system.

My PC: Ryzen 3900x, 2070 Super etc. All drivers up to date.

I was also running PrPro2020 (version 14.3.1)

The solution that has worked for me is going back to PrPro version 13.1.5

Everything now running like a dream. Unfortunately I have also had to downgrade Aftereffects as well for livelink compatibility. But Im just glad to know that my shiny new ($$$) hardware was not the problem!!!

I can see how this could have occurred:

With the RTX series, NVIDIA introduced a new technology called Tensor cores, while at the same time began depreciating legacy CUDA performance. Unfortunately, Adobe Premiere Pro still relies HEAVILY on legacy CUDA code, and currently makes absolutely no use whatsoever of the newer Tensor technology. As a result, legacy CUDA performance is somewhat slower in the RTX series than it was on the corresponding GTX 10 series predecessors.

That makes sense. I'm not too worried about it as it did actually help my timeline performance slightly and I did the upgrade as more of a future proofing step than anything. Hopefully adobe optimizes this in the future.
