User attempting to setup airpods as audio/microphone on Windows 10

I have a user who attempted to setup airpods for audio/microphone via Audio Setup Wizard without much success.  Initially, he was able to hear me, then he wasn't.  Never got his microphone to work or to recognize his speech.  

Any suggestions for him?
