Question

Which one should I get, NUC8i7HVK or NUC8i7HNK?

Hello everybody:

I'm a Creative Cloud Photography Plan user and I'm about buy a new pc because my current one is showing its age. I'm almost determined to buy one of the latest Intel NUCs with the AMD Radeon RX Vega M. I'm not a gamer and I don't plan to game with it (too old for that). Beside the Adobe apps I woukd like to do some light video editing with footage taken with my cameras: Nikon D750 and Olympus TG-5. I won't use Premier but something lighter (and  cheaper).

My doubt is if I should get the less powerful one, the NUC8i7HNK with Vega M GL, because the most powerful NUC8i7HVK is only worthwhile for gamers and will bring negigible benefits for Lightroom, Photoshop and the video editing I plan to do.

Thank you for your help

Thank you very much to the people who advised me about video editing but this would be a low priority task for me now.

The main one would be to run fluidly Lightroom and Photoshop. I mainly work with the NEF files from my Nikon D750.

So, my question of whether it would be worth going for the most powerful NUC8i7HVK or the perfomance improvement over the cheaper NUC8i7HNK would be negligible is still unanswered. The price difference buys 16GB of RAM.

You might want to download the trial of Premiere Elements.  It's a one time payment.

Between those two: Neither. In the case of the cheaper software, be aware that such software cannot take full advantage of most of the higher-grade components. So, if you get Premiere Elements or any other consumer editing software, you might as well save your hardware money and get a NUC that's powered by an i5 CPU instead of an i7 CPU.
