Will my computer work for Premiere Pro?

Hello,

I just got Premeire Pro and it is my first time using the software. When I started the software I got the message that my graphic card is not supported, I'm running on a Geforce 940 MX. The rest of my specs are below:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200 U CPU @ 2.50 GHz 2.70 GHz

8GB RAM

This is a fairly new Acer laptop from about 3 years ago.

Thanks!

Moved to the Video Hardware forum.

Unfortunately, your editing experience will not be pleasant with that laptop. Its CPU has only two physical cores (but four threads), while the GeForce 940MX is based on a low-end first-generation Maxwell chip that dates back to 2014. And like most laptops with that CPU, it has both the Intel HD Graphics 520 and the discrete GPU enabled.

If you say your "graphics card is not supported," what is the particular error? "Unsupported video driver?" If so, then you may not have up to date drivers for the GPU in question.

Is that GPU in question (that triggered the error message) the GeForce 940 MX? Or is it really the Intel HD Graphics 520?

Thanks for the reply!

The GPU in question that triggered the error message was the GeForce 940 MX. "System Compatibility Report: Unsupported Video Driver."

I checked the Geforce Experience software which said my card was up to date as well as going to NVIDIA's website which listed no available updates either.
