Will Pro CC run on Core2Quad and 1 GB VRAM?

I've been using CS6 on Windows 10 just fine, but now I need to add closed captions to a 30-sec clip, which means I need Pro CC.

My footage is 1080p, not 4K.

My obsolete hardware:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
GPU: EVGA GTX 560 Ti 1 GB VRAM

I don't care if Premiere Pro CC is going to run slow on these, all I need to know if it will run at all, or if there are some hardware incompatibilities.

I know the minimum system requirements for Pro CC are i5/i7 CPU and 2 GB VRAM, but I wonder if real-life experience differs from the theory.

If someone has been able to use Pro CC on Core2Quad and 1GB VRAM, could you please write that CPU/GPU and Premiere version?

As you didn't state the amount of RAM that your system has, I can't tell you anything. If your system has only 4 GB of RAM total, Premiere Pro CC (2019/13.x) will not even run at all.

As for your GPU, it is now officially obsolete by both NVIDIA and Adobe. You will not get any GPU acceleration at all for renders because NVIDIA had EOL'd all Fermi GPUs for driver support after version 391.35 back in March 2018, and that Adobe now requires driver versions in the 400's (which are NOT compatible at all with your GPU or any other GPU that's older than the 600 series) just to enable GPU acceleration at all.

And the minimum required hardware may launch Premiere Pro, but will run quite sluggishly even at that. The REAL-LIFE minimum acceptable recommended configuration is much higher than those minimums.

One last thing:

The only version of Premiere Pro that can run on your current system (albeit sluggishly) with GPU-accelerated rendering that's currently available to Creative Cloud subscribers is CC 2018 (12.1.2). But get it soon before it becomes permanently unavailable in a few weeks to a couple of months.

And I used to have a Core 2 Quad Q9450. In my testing it was actually slower/weaker than even a Sandy Bridge-generation dual-core i3-2100 from 2011, let alone a current 6-core i5 CPU.

It's worth a try, please do report back. If it throws an error the first time you launch Premiere saying your system is not compatable, just click Ignore.
