If the media will be on the HDD, you will want to replace that HDD with an SSD or you may need to use proxies or have slow performance.

Actually, the OS would normally be installed on the SSD and the HDD is used for data... at least that is what I have read for every other pre-built computer I have seen mentioned here

Where are you placing the OS?

Is the SSD internal?

Is the HDD internal?

What type of media will you be editing (file type and codec)?

Thanks for the reply.

 

This is a premade machine so I'm assuming the SSD and HDD are internal, and the usual location to install the OS would be the HDD? I will try and find an actual answer for you.

 

Type of media will be varied however, it won't be 4k, and most of what I'll be doing is quite basic.
