I would like to know how to convert a jpg to vector 

      Correct answer Laura Coyle.

      In Capture, use the image menu to select the jpg you want to use, then select Shapes to make a Capture Shape from it, which is vector. Choose B&W or color and edit it using the settings. Once it's saved to a library it will be in SVG format that you can use in Illustrator.
