Question

Shapes feature new color vector option

I have just updated the software of both my iPhone and iPad and then updated the App to the newest version.  My iPhone has a new feature that enables me to capture in color when utilizing the shape tool.  On my updated iPad which I have now restarted twice, I do not have that option. Why?  It's such a great feature!

Help

Thanks and best

Hi,

Shapes tool has two module: Color Shapes and original black and white shapes. Please review if you are in the right module, as with the latest update by default you will launch in black and white shapes. Attached screenshot explains the Shape swticher to swtich from one module to other.

Please share if this help. If not, please reach out using the in-app feedback as Sue shared and we will be able to help further.

Hi.

This feature should be available on any device running iOS 11 and above. Since I can't see any of your device/app information here, please message me through Capture's in-app feedback from the device you're having trouble with so I can see all of the device/app info that auto-populates the email.

To access that, tap the icon in the upper lefthand corner of the screen then from the menu that launches tap Send Feedback.

I'll keep any eye out for your email.

Hi Sue. Thanks so much for your time and help. I can't set up an email from the device as they are not my personal devices. I am a digital media teacher and am responsible for 12 iPads at my school. I have updated all 12 machines and all 12 are not showing the color feature.  I have successfully used the feature from my personal iPhone so I am familiar with where and how to utilize it. I hope the information below helps. Thank you kindly!

🙂

Hi Jessatgs.

Thanks for the screenshots. They are super helpful. Unfortunately I still can't determine what's going wrong with the installation. I've asked the Capture team to try to figure out and I'll let you know as soon as I hear something back.

UPDATE:

Jessatgs, I heard back from the team. Color Shapes are not supported on older iPads/iPhones. Here's a list of devices that aren't supported:

Devices must have iOS 12 or above (which yours do)
iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus,
iPod Touch (6th-gen)
iPad Air, iPad Mini Retina, iPad Mini 3

I hope that helps clarify things.

Sue.
