What happened to “Looks” on the new Adobe Capture?

I just downloaded the new version of Adobe Capture and realized that “Looks“ wasn’t an option anymore. Why? This was a great feature. We need something to capture and create our own photo filters and apply them to our photos on the Adobe mobile apps like Lightroom & Photoshop as well as desktop programs all through creative cloud Library assets. It was driving me crazy looking for a way to do this.

Also, I only found I was able to use “Colors” from Adobe library assets on Adobe Sketch, Draw & Comp but not on Adobe Spark (Which would be nice for “Palettes“).

This was SUCH a huge thing for me to have Looks back. It's where I create most of the "Looks" I use for video work. Hot sunny day feeling, cool morning, whatever ... it's wondrous and quick.

So glad it's back!

Not only is the Looks module back, but all my previously saved looks are there, too!

Hurray!

Hey Guys,

Just chiming in here- since there is no way to save looks, how can I save a look in premiere clip app? I does not let me import LUT, cube, or .look in premier pro desktop library so I don't see anyway to add a look to the app. Any suggestions? Tips? I've spent the better have of the day searching every google question/forum/video and NOTHING.

Help pleeeeease

They removed that feature and haven't implemented it back as far as I know.

I just missed the Looks too. Why Adobe is always doing this stupid things. Same with th DPS Tools. Bring the Looks back to Capture CC better yesterday than tomorrow :-)

Hi Sue,

what was the thinking for removing Looks? I use this all the time and can’t be the only user baffled and disappointed that it’s been removed.

please get the team to reconsider reinstating it. I’m a bit lost without it...

thanks,

Paul

Thank you, voltage control.  You said what I was thinking.

The current app showing on my iPad has added a completely useless feature called "Materials."  It's as waste of pixels, if it is intended to do something I might find useful.

The only question - ok two questions - I have now to the Adobe team are

1)  Why do you think it's a great idea to just remove things without explanation if, indeed, they are as useful to us as you seemed to think they were when they were added?  and

2)  What can I do to make SURE my CC doesn't update on my phone when I'm not looking?  So far it hasn't.

I think i could help you with your second question. You can simply turn off the Auto-Update function. First of all it depends on what you device you are using. On apple Devices you can turn off Auto Update, so the app (in this case Adobe Capture) will not update automatically in the background. Go to Settings / Itunes & App Store and there you can disable the Update in Background function. On android devices there is an option in the Play Store where you can turn off auto Update app per app. But now you must update all of your other updates in the App Store manually and stop the manual update of Adobe Capture every time you update your other apps (manual).
I know this is just a workaround but it will prevent the app from Auto Updating in the Background and you can use the look-feature in the future as long as you not update the app manually!
- Hope i could help you aaand sorry for my englisch, i'm german :'D !.

Hi Lannie.

Yes, sorry for the confusion… the Looks module was removed from the latest version of Capture.

Although that function, and the assets, are no longer available in the app, any saved Looks are still available from the Libraries panel in the desktop apps and on assets.adobe.com/assets/libraries.

About making Color Themes avaialable in Spark… It's a great idea. I'll share it with the Capture team.

Sue, so I just downloaded capture purely for looks and it is missing which is really disappointing. I read in the forum that its coming back. When exactly is this being added back in the app? Its ridiculous that adobe offers a cool product that people get excited about then removes it for no good reason. Secondly is there a way to download an older version of the app that includes this feature?

Thanks

James.

I've been told later this year.... unfortunately that, and the fact that it is coming back, is as much information as I have right now.
