Question

Won't capture the colors I want

Please help! I hold the camera up to an image. Even if I hold it very still, for 30 seconds with the color dots staying on the colors I want to capture, as soon as I tap Freeze or Capture the color dots move to completely different colors and saves that instead.

Every. Single. Time.

I cannot get the colors I actually want.

Hi Digital.

I was unable to duplicate this and realized, after talking to the team, that it was because I wasn't using "tap to freeze," but instead just tapping the shutter.

The Capture team is looking into this but in the meantime, is simply tapping the shutter, once the color dots stabilize, working for you?

Hi Sue,

Thanks for looking into this. What do you mean by "tap the shutter" -- do you mean the round button in the center of the ribbon below the image? If so, then yes, it does it there, too. However, I did just find that occasionally DOES work. Yesterday it was breaking every time, but today I have gotten it to work about 60% of the time. I see no rhyme or reason. I even looked up one of the images I couldn't get to work yesterday--had the problem again the first two times when I just retried it, and then it worked a couple of times. Ugh, I hate random issues, especially because developers tend to just shrug and say they don't know.

Hopefully you can find something. I've attached one of the images I've had problems with, maybe it will help. It has a lot of shades close together, so maybe that has something to do with it? If it isn't attached, it's on instagram, https://www.instagram.com/p/B7tYR9gA8pP/ [https://www.instagram.com/p/B7tYR9gA8pP/]

Thank you,
Jess

Hi Jess.

We were (are) able to duplicate this in-house and it does appear to be a bug. I'll know more as the team looks into it.

Yes, the round button with the checkmark in it is the shutter for the camera. Try using that. Another thing you might try, until it's fixed, and I know this is an extra step... import an image and capture your Color Themes with that (the color dots are not only super stable that way, but you can move them exactly where you want them).

Let me know if either of those work for you.

Sue.
