11x17 print orientation

I am working with a windows 10 operating system, trying to print 11x17 PDF to HP Color LaserJet CP5225dn. Print comes out in wrong orientation, landscape file or portrait file always comes out in opposite orientation, cut off with white space at the bottom. even after switching page orientation. tested on multiple pdf files so it is not a corrupt file either. 11x17's print correctly from other programs so the problem is localized to adobe. I have tried multiple driver options for the printer to no avail.
