acrobat 8 not recognized in windows 10

My acrobat 8 professional is not recognized since i upgraded to windows 10. It will not allow me to set it as my default pdf program. It does not come up in most program (app) list. I tried to use the update feature but it indicated that it could not find internet access, even though the laptop is connected to my wifi.
