Acrobat PDF form changes gold valuation results after saving and reopening
Hello,
I'm encountering a strange issue with an interactive PDF form created in Adobe Acrobat.
The form is designed to calculate estimated scrap gold values based on weight, purity, and current market price. Users enter their values, the calculation runs automatically, and the PDF can then be saved for later reference.
However, after saving and reopening the PDF, some calculated fields occasionally display a slightly different value than what was originally shown before saving.
To verify the expected result, I compared the same inputs against a scrap gold calculator available at: https://scrapgoldmeltcalc.com
The calculation is correct initially, but after reopening the PDF, certain totals appear to be rounded differently.
Current setup:
- Interactive PDF form
- Acrobat JavaScript calculations
- Number fields with decimal precision
- Auto-calculation enabled
Has anyone experienced similar behavior with Acrobat recalculating form values after reopening a document?
Could Acrobat be re-evaluating the JavaScript calculations differently when the file is loaded, or is there a recommended way to preserve calculated values exactly as they were when the PDF was saved?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.
