Correct answer Willi Adelberger

Acrobat XI came out during the time of Mac OS 10.9 or 10, but Mac OS 10.12 came out several Years later. Apple changes always its connection to external devices. So you can't expect that an old version is supporting a later OS. If it works, it is fine, as it will do for many, but when it comes to problem, mostly with scanners and cameras and deep into the OS woven functionality you are out of luck.

No it is not a bug. Apple never takes care on backward compatibility. Those things happen with Apple with any upgrade.

Acrobat XI is not compatible with it. You need to upgrade to DC.

Thanks a lot for the quick and precise answer.

Could you point me to the document  release note etc etc) that states this?

Is it defined as featured regression, a bug or something else?

Meanwhile I shall inquire about the cost of the upgrade.

Have a nice weekend and regards
