Acrobat pro DC 12 install problems

Running Windows 7 and just purchased Adobe Acrobat pro DC for a this computer that already had Acrobat Standard on it. Used the adobe.com/go/getserial link and followed the instructions. Downloaded the program and extracted the files to desktop. Clicked on setup.exe and started install. This ran for awhile and informed me install was complete. I still only have the standard version showing up and no sign of the pro edition? Ran acropro exe and no change under the recommended setting. Switched to Modify and ran the program, this time it added an icon to the desktop but it is still the standard version. HELP?????
