Acrobat Pro X crashes when completing fillable PDF forms

Hello,

I've been using Acrobat Pro X for a long time. A few days ago, it started crashing when I am trying to complete fillable PDF forms. This includes both previously saved forms that I would like to modify as well as new forms. I'm working on a windows 7 machine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? I already tried repairing and reinstalling Acrobat Pro X, but it did not fix the problem. I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

Hi ,

After taking back up of the registries, refer to these steps for resetting the preferences :-

1.Choose Start, type reg edit in the Start Search,and then press Enter.

2.In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe

3.Remove the Acrobat preferences registry entries.

Then

* Launch the application holding 'Shift' Key, check whether it works or not.

* Check with the compatibility mode, right click o Acrobat Pro icon, then from Properties > compatibility > uncheck the compatibility option & Run the acrobat as administrator.

If issue still persist please check with the different user account to replicate the issue .

Please provide the exact dot version of the software & OS installed at your system

Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.

Then  open Acrobat, navigate to Help menu & repair the installation.

Would like to know is this happening with all the forms or with certain once.

Are those forms are over any server drive , if yes then move them to the Local drive & then check for the same.

Also check with the different user account to replicate the issue.

Hello Yatharth,

Here are the precise details of OS and Acrobat version:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Acrobat Pro: 10.1.16.13

I already tried both repairing and reinstalling the program before posting the message, but that did not solve the problem.

The problem started occurring with forms saved on my computer, and it occurs not just with those forms, but also with new ones downloaded from a server.

I tried following the steps in the link you sent me to reset the preferences, but I cannot find the last part of the path. When I get to my user profile, I do not find an “app” folder. Therefore, this part of the path cannot be accessed: AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\[version].
