Acrobat Reader DC Install Fails

I want to install Acrobat ReaderDC. I go to Acrobat reader DC Installer, start the progress but it fails to install stating "Newer Version already installed". I cannot find Acrobat reader on the computer using Control Panel, Programs and Features, and cannot find any Acrobat Reader installed. The computer certainly doesn't open PDF's. What is wrong?

Try running cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  and then restart your system.

Then try to install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from this link :  Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
