Acrobat Reader DC update: stop touching my system settings

Adobe,

1) If I don't have a shortcut in my Start Menu, I probably have my reasons for that. Stop polluting my Start Menu by placing a shortcut there after every update.

2) I have foxit reader set up as default PDF reader, please respect that and stop FORCING your reader as default after an update.

Acrobat Reader DC is STILL putting a new shortcut in my start menu every few days. Come on, Adobe, fix your shitty settings already.

Sorry about your problem and thanks for reporting the issues.

We assume you are on Windows 7. Please let us know if it's otherwise.

Point 1 - This looks like a default Windows OS behavior, I updated Foxit Reader after deleting it's shortcut from the start menu and after update shortcut reappeared.

Point 2 - This is a known issue on Windows 7. Reader will not become default after update on Windows 8 and above.

Yes, Win 7 (x64, Enterprise - though I think that's rather irrelevant).

1. (I assume you meant Adobe Reader, not Foxit). There is litteraly no other program (that I use) that places a shortcut in the start menu (besides the one at initial installation), so calling this a Windows issue seems inappropriate.

2. If it's possible for Win8, it should be possible for Win7. And again: no other non-default program takes over those settings after an update -> Adobe Reader issue.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and forwarding it to the relevant team. I hope they will solve it in the near future.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there is no option for Acrobat Reader DC (or Pro or antyhing else similar) on the page in the pull down menu. I'll file it under the first (Adobe Audition) and hope it finds its way to the right people.
