Question

Acrobat X does not edit text after OCR

I scan an image into PDF. Then in Acrobat X Pro, I OCR the document, Find Suspects, type in new text for a suspect. Acrobat shows the new text as I type it in but when I click Accept and Continue, the text disappears and reverts to the original text.

Did the solution provided worked for you.

Also Acrobat X is quite older version expired years ago. Please try latest  Acrobat DC having much improved text recognition.

Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC

Thanks.

Suspect correction is only done in a background hidden layer. After making changes you can search them but it will not change the original PDF front layer.

To do that you need to run OCR with clearscan option(or go to edit PDF tool)

Sounds as if you have an image with hidden text. The only purpose of find suspects is to correct OCR. It is absolutely not for late editing; you just are aiming to make the OCR a more accurate reflection of what you will continue to see. You may need to redact then add text if you really want to do that, but spacing will not adjust. Or use a different kind of OCR (not hidden text).
