Question

Hello,

Im looking to be able to a security and and an expiration date to a pdf when a client downloads it (i need all of the work to happen on the "on-click" button event of the site im working on). Will the Adobe SDK allow for me to do this? I would think there would be an easier way to open the pdf > add js for expire and security > save and deliver to the client.

Regards

What you're describing is in effect DRM protection. You can't apply it with Acrobat or the Acrobat SDK.

Thank you for your information, what i need to be able to do is impart some bit of js, automatically, when a button is clicked.

There is no such thing as an "expiry date" for a PDF. Hence, the Acrobat SDK can't create one.

Document security can be set using a plug-in, written in C++, but only on an interactive end-user computer. You CANNOT use the Acrobat SDK on a server since Acrobat cannot be licensed for a server.

Does you mean the Acrobat SDK?
