I get this message when I try activating Acrobat 8: "We are unable to activate Adobe Acrobat 8 standard.Click the phone activation button to learn how to speak with one of the customer care representatives. An Error code 159:18 is supplied in the Adobe Activation Unsuccessful pop-up Window.

Phone Activation telephone numbers announce phone activation is no longer available.

Adobe support told me to startup a session with Adobe online chat support for products with "serial numbers" and they could not assist me and referred me to Adobe Forums.

Does anyone know if Adobe 8 Acrobat Standard Activation is indeed possible in 2016?

it's possible.

start by checking your hosts file.

for help with that and other common secure adobe.com connection problems read, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html

if that shows you can connect with secure adobe servers and you still see that error, Troubleshoot install issues with log files in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6, CS5.5, CS5), PS Elements, and Premiere Elements http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html
