Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on new Mac - won't fully launch/load

Unchecking the boxes on Distiller helped as I was able to complete the entry of the software key for Acrobat and complete the registration. However when I exited the Registration window Adobe Acrobat 9 still wouldn't launch. It only shows Acrobat in the command bar at the top of the screen with no other functions listed and nothing appearing on screen. Any ideas?

If you are also on El Capitan (you should always provide information ASK- Forum Success Guide: Efficiently using the forums when asking a question) you need to be aware that CS5 is not really compatible

So you may get CS5 programs to work, or you may not, but there are no updates from Adobe
