Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Crashing on Windows 7

Acrobat 9 Standard keeps crashing on my Windows 7 PC. I've followed Adobe instructions to uninstall and reinstall with serial number, but although the serial number is clearly shown on my Adobe account, it's not recognising the serial number. Can anyone help?

Do you get any error message when you enter the serial number? If yes, please share the exact message you get.

Also try once to remove Acrobat 9 using cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  and then restart your system.

Then try to re-install the application

Would also like to inform you that Acrobat 9 is old and unsupported version.

The message says 'Invalid Serial Number. This is not a valid serial number. Please go back and re-enter your serial number'. I am copying and pasting the serial number directly from the registered products section of my Adobe account.
