Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 in valid serial number

I see I am having exactly the same problem as others have reported in installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  I successfully installed it, but the installation rejected the license number that I downloaded from my account on the Adobe website as invalid.  I was installing it under Windows 10 and, since it rejected the license number, I elected for a 30 day trial.

I spent ages on chatlines with four different agents.  The first agent would always redirect me to a specialist in my problem area only to have that agent to send me to forums.adobe.com.  So here I am no nearer a solution and totally frustrated with Adobe tech support.  I have no idea what to do next?

Re Acrobat 9 see: Adobe Acrobat system requirements

It seems some Adobe reps have come to the understanding that if a product is no longer supported they can just refuse to support it in any way, and simply send people to the forums. This is wrong, as far as I know. Issues relating to serial-numbers should still be handled by Adobe, as they are the only ones that can verify whether a s/n is valid or not. It's fine that they refuse to support installing or using the application, as it's not supported and not compatible, but the s/n validity is not related to those issues and they have a responsibility to handle such cases.

We can't help you with this issue. We have no access to Adobe's internal systems and can't verify for you if your s/n is valid or not.

Contact Adobe again and demand a clear answer. As a side-note, though, Acrobat 9 is passed its end-of-life and is not compatible with Windows 10. This is not related to the validity of your serial-number, though.

Thanks for the information I didn't know that Acrobat 9 Pro was not compatible with windows 10.  If it was on the Adobe site I missed that.  It seems I have wasted my time.

Given the nature of this site why was it that 2 chat sessions with Adobe technical support sent me to it as my only option?  Very strange.
