Where can I get Adobe Acrobat SDK 5?

I have the same question. Does this version create thumbnail images from PDF for free? Or do I have to get the licensed one to be able to do this?

1. The Acribat SDK 5 was for Acrobat 5 and hasn't been available for more than 15 years. the current Acrobat and SDK is DC.

2. The SDK does nothing at all. Like most SDK is documentation and developer info. To make images you'd want Acrobat (paid). The interfaces aren't well documented In my view.
