Adobe Acrobat X installation stops because it needs IE 7 or better but I have IE 11 installed. Is there a fix for this?

We have Adobe Acrobat X which was installed about two years ago. Since then we have updated Internet Explorer to Internet Explorer 11. Due to a drive failure we had to install a new hard drive. When trying to reinstall Adobe Acrobat, I receive an error message that states the installation cannot continue because I need IE 7 or greater. Is there a patch or other fix to get the installation working?
