Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and error 16

When I updated to Windows I had to reinstall Acrobat XI Pro. When I try to open the program I get a message that I should uninstall and reinstall the program and error 16. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program a few times and the error does not go away. I cannot use this software until I can get past the error. Please provide me with an answer for fixing this problem. Thanks.

Opening Acrobat XI Pro as administrator seemed to fix the problem. Thanks for all your help.

I must open Acrobat XI Pro each time as an administrator. Otherwise, it goes back to the problem with error 16 when I just open it the usual way. How can I get "open as administrator" to "stick"?

Right click on acrobat's icon and go to properties, here go to security tab check run as administrator option or go to the option to set for all users and check run as administrator.

These folders will be located in C:\Programs Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe

I know where they should be located and they are not there. I am not using the Cloud version of Acrobat XI Pro.

Hello Patrices,

Error : 16 suggest its a permission related issue.

Please try to create a new user account on your computer and install the application. If that doesn't work you can contact the support team at the link below:

Instead of creating a new user you can also enable a hidden built in administrator account on your computer.

Please check the links below for the same:

I'm using Windows 10. Your link took me to a Windows Vista page.
