Adobe PDFMaker crashing with Skype 2016

Office 2010 - 32bit

Adobe Acrobat 11.0.17

Windows 10 & 7

Currently in our environment  - we have Office 2010 on a bunch of machines with Skype for business 2016 getting installed.  When Skype for business 2016 is installed, the ability to Right-click files and 'Combine files in Acrobat...'  breaks and comes back with the error: "No PDF File was created because Acrobat encountered an unidentified error."

I've referenced the Adobe Support for:

Adobe’s Support page making the reference:  https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/PDFMaker-crashes-office2016-office365.html

Their TechNet link from the reference:  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/mt465751

I've ask our Microsoft contact about an KB that the above could've referenced in a fix for this, but they were unable to find anything specific.  I've updated Adobe and Microsoft 2010 but the effect still occurs.  Was wondering if anyone has seen this or any experience with this.

In most cases, upgrading the office product to 2016 seems to resolve the issue, but I have a few cases in which it continues this behavior.  (These are out on some customers, so I cannot verify they have everything up to 100% up-to-date) - but if the fix is in place for 2016 but no lower, I may be able to take this to my supervisor to see if this is just the acceptable fix.

I "solved" this error by uninstalling Skype for Business and installing Lync 2013.

Had the same error on two different computers. Win 10, latest Acrobat DC, latest Skype for Business.

Skype For Business 2016 was definitely the culprit in our case, but we are running Microsoft Office 2013. We resolved the issue by deleting registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{2DF8D04C-5BFA-101B-BDE5-00AA0044DE52}\2.8]

@="Microsoft Office 16.0 Object Library"

NOTE: Only delete key 2.8, not key 2.7, 2.*

Check File Association - Make sure the .pdf is opening in Acrobat not Reader.

If this is correct,

Print all associated files as PDFs then Combine the saved/printed versions.

The combining of files when they're already PDFs goes through without an error.  But our users want to be able to combine multiple Word documents that they work with - if they say have a folder of 50 documents, printing all of those documents as PDFs will not fly when they could simply right-click them and combine into PDF before.

File association is set to Acrobat - Reader has been removed from the machine to prevent that issue from occurring.

Hi Josh

How many files are you selecting for combine at a time?

Try to select a lesser number and let us know if it succeeds.

Thanks
