Question

Adobe WhiteList Policy does not work to Override Protected Mode

Has anyone in this community been successful at getting a WhiteList Policy to work?  We have a Windows .Net program that needs to open our pdf's in a particular directory on the server.  We are using the Adobe Acrobat Browser Control Type Library 1.0 (AxAcroPDFLib).

The ONE example in the security docs looks quite specific and straight forward.   However, I cannot get the browser control to show any of the pdf files with protected mode turned on.  The program loads it but it remains solid gray.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out.
Can you please elaborate a little on how are you trying to use the WhiteList Policy?
Also, can you please let us know the policy details? I'll help you out with the probelm you're facing.

Thank You,

We have a .Net EXE which calls another .Net EXE whose function is to open pdf files in ONE folder on the server. I want to allow opening of any pdf file in that folder.  The pdf files are displayed in the Adobe Acrobat Browser Control.

ProtectedModeWhitelistConfig.txt

; Files Section
FILES_ALLOW_ANY = \\DeviceName\Path to Folder containing the pdfs we want whitelisted\*

; Processes

PROCESS_ALL_EXEC = \\DeviceName\Path to Folder containing the EXE we are calling to open the pdfs\*
