After 2.5 years, serial # for Acrobat 9 no longer works.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 on my computer for 2.5 years. This week when I try to open it, it asks me for a serial number, but when I enter the serial # on the disc jacket, I get a message saying the serial # is not valid. How do I solve this?

After finally getting around to contacting Dell, as I was typing in my question, it took me right to my original question above. So evidently Dell pushes any questions about Adobe products back to the Adobe website. I should add that I installed Adobe Reader DC a few months ago so I could read more recently created PDF files. Acrobat XI Standard continued to work for a couple of months, but then started asking for the serial number. Maybe not related, but maybe it is. Any help on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

If it's Dell. that sounds good news, as they are a recognised supplier. Now, when Dell supply software they take on the support role, so I recommend you contact them. It should be a serial number they recognise.

Perhaps it was found by Adobe to be shared (not by you but by a seller) and they blocked it. It seems impossible to know, but certainly if you only had it 2.5 years it was already obsolete and out of support when someone sold it to you.

Thanks for this suggestion, but the Acrobat 9 software was loaded onto my computer by Dell when I purchased it, so the software was brand new and the disc has been locked up the entire 2.5 years until I needed to get to it for the serial #. I don't see how this could be the problem.
