after installing, Acrobat IX opens in a foreign language and asks for a product key. How do i get it to open in english?

There's no such thing as "Acrobat IX"... Do you mean Acrobat XI? Or Acrobat 9?

Please attach a screenshot of the message you getting ?

If its asking you for the serial key again and again then there is a possibility that the product is not activated .Please try to install acrobat 9 from this link : Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9

And then put in the serial key and activate .
