Altering current selection in Adobe DC

In Acrobat XI and earlier, I was able to add and remove objects from my current selection by holding Ctrl or Alt, respectively. In DC, I have been unable to alter my current selection in any way. By just using my mouse, I cannot select the objects I need to without grabbing other objects I do not want to select.
