Are digital signatures applied through Acrobat XI Pro legally binding in Australia?

I'd like to know how the legal implications of using electronic signatures on legal documents - using Acrobat XI Pro specifically - can anyone help provide some context please?

It does not matter which tool you're using to create digital signature. If a country's law makes digital signature legal, then Acrobat's (any version) should be legal. But this is a question to lawyers not technical people.
