author not changed in case other user copies original comment as basis

We have created a document and added comments within Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and submitted those to a client, who has added some additional comments by copying the original comments made by us.

Doing so the author is not changed to the person who copied the comment, but actually the original author is kept.

Is this behaviour expected like this?

Well, your expectations don't see to match those of the developers and of other users.

You can submit a feature request to have it changed, though: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Yes, it is expected behavior. You are copying the comments, after all, so why would their properties change?

We would expect that the user who is copying the original comment is set as author, as the original person, creating the comment, has not written the actual comment nor any influence on it, but still is marked as author.

In terms of collaboration it then is hard to identify those comments changed or added by the second user.
