Boxes do not show on other's computer screen

I've created several forms for my office and I used the Comment Drawing Tools to draw black bordered clear boxes around the areas where clients need to fill in information, and gray filled boxes on areas for office use only.  The boxes do not show up on my Director's computer screen.  I've tried flattening the documents, perhaps I'm using the wrong settings, but when I flatten it, the boxes disappear and the fillable form fields also disappear.  How do I draw simple boxes that will show up on everyone's screens?
