Question

Can Acrobat 6 Pro preflight be setup to report an image (or image box) that has been set to knockout vs overprint?

I am using Quark 5 and Arcrobat 6 for PDF creation. Several years ago, some Quark image boxes (and the images inside) got set to knockout. My workflow requires reusing these old files, so I have a large catalog of these incorrect files with images set to knockout instead of overprint. I know how to prevent the problem going forward on any new files I create, but the problem is in these historical files. I am looking for a way for Preflight to tell me that this Image has been set to knockout and report an error to the user. I have found that I can check and report the overprint vs knockout for a fill and stroke, but this is neither of those catagories. Thanks!

Hi ,

Acrobat 6 is an older and unsupported versions.

There is nothing we can do about this.

Please switch on the latest Acrobat DC for better outcome.
